5282 Season 4: Ep.14

15th September 2025
Beatles Documentaries

In 1969 director Michael Lindsay-Hogg has a straightforward task. To film the Beatles at Twickenham studios as they prepare for a live television performance, scheduled roughly for a few weeks in the future, and a new album. The band seem tense, under rehearsed and lacking direction. Within a month they have changed venue, direction, have added Billy Preston to their line up and have performed on the roof of the Apple Corps. headquarters.

Now we have both Lindsay-Hogg's edited version, Let It Be, and Peter Jackson's mammoth Get Back. The 5282 team discuss the relative merits of both, the range of emotions and struggles on show, and what more if anything we can learn about probably the most famous band in the world ever.
